SITXFSA001 – USE HYGIENE PRACTICES FOR FOOD SAFETY
This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to use personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that could cause food-borne diseases. The training is applicable to all organisations with permanent or provisional kitchen premises or smaller food preparation or bar areas.
At the conclusion of this course, a participant will be able to:
- Identify and remove food hazards and report as appropriate for follow-up.
- Report any personal health issues likely to cause a hygiene risk and cease participation in food handling activities where own health issue may cause food contamination.
- Prevent food contamination from clothing and other items worn.
- Ensure hygienic personal contact with food and food contact surfaces.
- Use hygienic cleaning practices that prevent food-borne illnesses.
- Learn to wash hands correctly and at appropriate times using appropriate facilities.
- Receive a Statement of Attainment for SITXFSA001 – Use Hygiene Practices for Food Safety
Candidates will require the ability to read administrative paperwork and communicate verbally in a team or to supervisors.
Materials to bring to the course: Pen and notebook. Drink bottle and lunch (should you wish to consume a home-made lunch)
Dress code: Smart casual closed toed shoes.
Site: The course can be delivered onsite – commercial kitchen required, or it can be delivered at the Little Kitchen That Could – 90 Montague Street South Melbourne
Length of the course: 1 x day
Price: $100 per participant
Minimum participants per course: 10
