The Australian Government has introduced new Work for the Dole arrangements in selected areas across Australia. The new arrangements provide organisations with access to additional resources and financial support that can assist the sector.
Work for the Dole can benefit the Not-For-Profit and community sectors by providing additional resources and placement funding.
By becoming a Host Organisation you will not only benefit as a business ‐ but improve an individual’s life as you assist their transition to work.
The Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC) is one of the nominated providers for the Work for the Dole Coordinator services for the Westgate region – which includes Wyndham, Hobson’s Bay, Brimbank, Maribyrnong, Melton and Moorabool Shire.
WHO CAN BECOME A HOST?
•Not‐for‐profit organisations/ Charities
•Local, State, Territory or Commonwealth Government organisations or agencies
• Landcare groups/other land management groups
• Community Organisations
WHO ARE YOU HELPING?
• The people involved in these activities are generally people in receipt of Centrelink income benefits
• They’re usually aged between 18 to 29 and are required to participate in eligible activities each year.
