What’s involved?

  • This fast-track program involves 21-weeks theory and practical training at Avidity, our specialist Beauty & Make-up Training Centre in Albert Park
  • Small classes
  • Additional one-on-one student support. We know sometimes every body needs a little extra help. One of our super trainers Claire will also be available on Thursday evenings between 6 and 9pm for ‘ask the teacher’ sessions by phone or video conferencing. All you need to do is book!

Who can join the program?

While there are no pre-requisite studies for entry into this course, a pre-training interview is required to ensure this course is most suitable for your needs.

Breaks:Week 1, September school holidays (19-23 Sept)
Melbourne Cup Eve – Monday 31 October.
Days & time:Mondays 9.30am to 4.30pm (with breaks)
Thursdays, 9.30am to 4.30pm (with breaks)
Saturdays, 9.30am-4.30pm (30 July, 27 August, 24 September, 29 October, 26 November, 3 December).
September intensive block – week of 24 – 29 Sept)
Venue: Avidity Salon, our specialist beauty & make-up training facility, 129 Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park (just 5 mins walk from Tram Route 1, Stop 32 or Tram Route 12, Stop 132)

Information and Enrolment sessions (allow 2 hours)

Choose between on of four information and enrolment days that will be held at Avidity. This is when you can meet the trainers, hear about what’s covered in the course, learn about the assessment methods and have your questions answered.

Mon 6 June, Thurs 9 June, Mon 20 June or Thurs 16 June or Thurs 23 June. Allow 2 hours anytime between 11am – 3pm.

Students will also be asked to complete a simple pre-enrolment language, literacy and numeracy test so as we can ensure the course content is suitable for your skills. Once the Pre-training review is complete, and we can see a good match between you and the course on offer, we can undertake an eligibility check to see if you are eligible for Skills First government funding.

To be eligible for Skills First Government Funding in Victoria, you must be an Australian citizen, or an Australian permanent resident, or a New Zealand Citizen. If you are over 20 years old, you are only eligible for subsidised training for courses leading to a higher qualification than what you already have. Additional concessions apply for Health Care Card holders, pension card holders or Veteran Card holders.
